For far too long we have been led to believe that our learning is linear and finite. This line of thinking has been reinforced by our current education system that lays out a linear path of levels of educational achievement.
People should be empowered to develop a lifelong learning mindset so that they go beyond traditional thinking that they are finished learning after they have competed a particular level of formal education.
Your Brain Is Not Full is dedicated to building a community of individuals and organizations advocating for the development of a lifelong learning mindset throughout their entire lifetime.
We realize that with the rapid and continual rate of change that is taking place in today’s economy/society we must continue to learn new skills, develop new ideas and continue to grow in order to realize the benefits of the changes that are occurring. We will never be finished learning.
Your Brain Is Not Full will provide a wealth of resources for people to discover tools and pathways to upgrade their existing skills and pursue lifelong learning. It will provide information, inspiration and intelligence for learners, employers and others to develop ways to successfully adapt to constant changes in labour market demand.
It will also demonstrate that it doesn’t have to take a lot of time or be that difficult.
How do we get people more engaged in learning? How do we encourage and develop the curiosity to find new things to learn?
The rapidly changing world of work values adaptability and the ability to pivot to learn new skills. This initiative will assist in engaging individuals to see the increasing value in lifelong learning.
A lifelong learning mindset can be achieved in many ways. They do not all have to be the traditional linear model of completing prescribed levels of learning. It could be achieved through the increasing development of micro credentials, increasing enrollment in continuing education courses or even increasing participation in Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), which are free online courses available for anyone to enroll.
The initial approach will involve a number of initiatives:
- Develop an awareness campaign to show people there are countless opportunities and benefits at their disposal to develop a lifelong learning mindset.

- Launch an advocacy campaign to develop supports for learners, employer driven training and the systems to inform and connect labour market information to meet the demands of all participants in the economy of the future. The goal is to connect industry, government, educators, and learners with the intelligence they need to make informed decisions regarding career opportunities.
